Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Jody Engel, DVM

Veterinarian, Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist

Dr. Engel is the owner of The Meadows Veterinary Center, a companion animal hospital in Windsor, Colorado.

Dr. Engel opened The Meadows Veterinary Center in 2014. Since opening Dr. Engel has enjoyed the friendships that have been formed with our clients and is lucky to work in a community that loves their pets! She is excited to expand our services and hours with additions of Drs. Paternoster and DeBell. Prior to relocating to Windsor, Dr. Engel owned and operated a companion animal hospital with luxury boarding and doggy daycare in Evergreen, Colorado for 7 years.

Her professional interests include preventive medicine, general surgery, dentistry, oral surgery and emergency medicine. In addition, she is certified in veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Engel gains her professional satisfaction in helping people care for their four-legged family members. She enjoys helping owners understand all of their medical decisions and pet care options.

Dr. Engel grew up in southern Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from Colorado State University. She started her career practicing both large animal and small animal medicine in New Mexico and Nebraska before moving back to Colorado.

Dr. Engel is a member of the Amercian Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, Larimer County Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.

Dr. Engel loves calling Windsor home. Her children Delaney and Brogan have grown up in Windsor and are now in High School and Middle School- Go Wizards! She enjoys sitting in the bleachers, stands and auditoriums cheering them on in all they love. She sometimes feels like chlorine is her perfume due to all the swim meets she attends. Outside of work, Dr. Engel enjoys landscaping, scuba diving, and learning to golf.

Dr. Cindi Paternoster, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Paternoster is originally from Minnesota, but spent most of her time growing up in Flagstaff, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University for her undergraduate studies, and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2017.

Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Paternoster worked as a veterinary nurse for several years. She has been working with Dr. Engel since 2011 and is thrilled to be joining The Meadows Veterinary Center as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Paternoster’s professional interests include preventive medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, and exotics.

Dr. Paternoster and her husband have lived in northern Colorado since 2011 and now call Windsor their home. They love being part of the community in Windsor. They share their household with four dogs, two cats, and a cockatiel. Outside of work, Dr. Paternoster enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading, gardening, and practicing yoga.

Dr. Malinda DeBell, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. DeBell was born and raised in Colorado. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Agriculture, a minor in Business Administration, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Colorado State University.

She worked in both the emergency radiology and emergency small animal surgery departments at the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital while in school, followed by practicing as an associate veterinarian in a small animal practice in Wyoming.

Dr. DeBell has special interests in surgery, clinical pathology, preventative medicine, exotic animal medicine, and client/owner education.

She likes to spend her free time immersed in the northern Colorado community with her family, several dogs, birds, and a cat. She is delighted to be a part of The Meadows Veterinary Center team as an associate veterinarian. She is devoted to serving the Windsor community and their fur-babies.

Dr. Emily England, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. England was born and raised in beautiful Prescott, Arizona. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Arizona followed by obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2018. After graduation, Dr. England worked at a busy small animal practice in Surprise, Arizona for 6 years before deciding to move back to beautiful Colorado, joining The Meadows Veterinary Center in 2024.

Dr. England recognizes that animals are an integral part of the family, and she enjoys providing quality care throughout a pet’s lifespan.

Her special interests in veterinary medicine include ophthalmology, internal medicine, and preventative care. In her free time, Dr. England enjoys hiking new trails with her family, which includes her husband, two Chihuahuas, and a very sweet German shepherd.

Kaylee is originally from Belle Fourche, South Dakota. She graduated from Front Range Community College. In her free time Kaylee loves spending time with her dog Juniper and cat Leonard, as well as hiking and riding horses.

Madison, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

Madison is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Appalachian State and Front Range Community College. She enjoys spending her free time with her dog Fred as well as reading, knitting, and running.

Monica

Practice Coordinator, Certified Veterinary Technician

Monica moved to Colorado in 2014, born and raised in Indiana. Graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing. Loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading, crafting and baking.

Sarah

Veterinary Technician

Sarah is from Colorado. She has three lizards and counting! Sarah enjoys fishing and spending time with her dogs. She plans on going to vet school and specialize in critical care/emergency medicine.

Meet Our Healthcare Team

Addison

Hospital Attendant

Addison was born and raised in Northern Colorado. They graduated from
Front Range Community College with an Associates of Science and Veterinary
Assistant Certification in the spring of 2024. Starting in the fall, they
will begin attending Colorado State University and working to pursue a
degree in veterinary sciences. During Addison's free time they enjoy
reading, hanging out with family and friends and cuddling with their three
cats and three dogs.

Caitlyn

Veterinary Assistant

Caitlyn is a Colorado native, though she spent quite a few years travelling along the west coast, this will always be her home. She is new to the veterinary industry but has always had a passion for helping and caring for animals. She one day hopes to become a fulltime foster mother for cats and kittens. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hanging out with her cats and dog, and teaching herself to cook.

Katelyn was born and raised here in Colorado. She is currently working on an agricultural business degree at CSU. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets.

Linaka was born and raised here in Colorado. She is new to the veterinary field and excited to learn how to take care and help of our furry loved ones. In Linaka's free time she enjoys painting models and spending time with her family and friends, especially playing games together.

Michaella is originally from California. She is a graduate from Colorado State University in 2022 with a degree in Equine Science. Michaella is currently back in school hoping to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, horses, and dogos.

Rachel was born and raised in Colorado where she grew up in a small town and spent a portion of her childhood raising livestock with her family. She has always been an animal lover and has enjoyed having several pets throughout her life so far. In her free time Rachel enjoys spending time with her friends and family, baking and cooking and being outdoors.

Ranae

Client Care Representative

Ranae is a native of Denver's suburbs and has pursued dual bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology at Colorado State University. Her passion for understanding human and animal behavior culminated in a career in veterinary medicine, where she found her true purpose. Outside of work, Ranae enjoys rescuing and rehabilitating animals.
